The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet is Oslo’s harbourfront opera house at Kirsten Flagstads plass, designed by Snøhetta. The white, sloping building stands beside the fjord and is home to the Norwegian National Opera, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Opera Orchestra, and the Ballet School.
Walk across the angled roof for views of Oslo and the water, or step inside to see oak interiors, broad glass façades, and the horseshoe-shaped main auditorium. The programme includes opera, ballet, concerts, and other stage productions across three stages.
Guided tours are offered in Norwegian and English, and performance tickets should be booked according to the current programme. The main house seats 1,369 guests, with additional stages seating 400 and 200. The building is wheelchair accessible, adapted for disabled visitors, and has accessible toilets.
